Description: This is Triumph's "amped up double" version of their Bengal Gold IPA. It pours as a deep caramel color and has a light scent of malts. If you are a fan of bitter hopped beer you are in luck; the IPX has a very sharp bite to it. All other beer lovers beware though this would not be the beer to start that hop journey on. A majority of Triumph beers have large malt favors and this double IPX does not divert from that tradition. As it warms to room temperature the malts begin to really show their head, but that bitterness does not take a back seat on this one. There are only two down sides to this beer: it is served in a 12oz snifter instead of a pint glass and it is not one of Triumph’s staple beers so you will not see it often. Other than that, if you have not tried this beer yet you are really missing out, because it is worth your while.
