Description: This dark chestnut brown ale looks very thick when poured from the tap. The scent from this Scotch Ale was not that strong, but we smelled caramel and fresh baked bread notes. We really enjoyed this Ale from Dark Horse Brewery, and would recommend drinking it at room temperature instead of colder. There are a variety of flavors in this beer, from a hint of coco to roasted oats, but what dominates this Scotch Ale is its sweet toffee malt character. One thing to note though is that the alcohol is almost non-existent in the taste, which is not what you would expect from a 9.7% beer. This makes it extremely smooth and drinkable. If you were not aware of this fact, a few pints would quickly catch up with you. We suggest you try a pint when you see this beer.
